Cole Smith received his license to practice law in Louisiana in 2005. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree (magna cum laude) in accounting and Master of Professional Accountancy degree (magna cum laude) from Louisiana Tech University in 2000 and 2001, respectively, Cole began his professional career as an auditor with KPMG in Shreveport. Cole successfully completed the Certified Public Accountants' examination and entered law school at Louisiana State University in 2002. In 2005, Cole received his Bachelor of Civil Laws Juris Doctorate degrees from Louisiana State University, graduating in the top five percent of his class. Cole was also a member of the Order of the Coif and the Louisiana Law Review.
Upon graduation from law school, Cole practiced for two years with a mid-sized firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thereafter, Cole relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana to be closer to his family in Winnfield, Louisiana, and accepted a position with Colvin Law Firm. Cole is now a partner in Colvin & Smith.
Cole is admitted to practice in the Louisiana State Courts, United States District Courts of Louisiana [Middle, Eastern and Western Districts], and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cole is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Shreveport Bar Association.
