Originally from Winnfield, Louisiana, Cole received his license to practice law in Louisiana in 2005. He received a Bachelor of Science degree (magna cum laude) in accounting and Master of Professional Accountancy degree (magna cum laude) from Louisiana Tech University in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Cole began his professional career as an auditor with KPMG in Shreveport. He successfully completed the Certified Public Accountants’ examination and entered law school at Louisiana State University in 2002. In 2005, Cole received his Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctorate degrees from Louisiana State University, graduating in the top five percent of his class. Cole was also a member of the Order of the Coif and the Louisiana Law Review.

Cole has been a partner with Colvin, Smith, McKay & Bays since 2012.

He is admitted to practice in the Louisiana State Courts, United States District Courts of Louisiana [Middle, Eastern and Western Districts], and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cole is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Shreveport Bar Association.

In his spare time, Cole enjoys golfing, duck hunting, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and two children, Caroline and Shep.
